30 Healthcare Centers for Emergency Health Services in Riyadh
13 November 2016
The Ministry of Health (MOH) keeps on implementing its initiatives meant to promote the performance level in its health facilities and invest all the available capabilities, in such a manner that contributes positively to improving the health services provided to citizens. Further to its achievement in this respect across the Kingdom’s regions and governorates, and within the framework of its keenness on the citizen’s convenience, as well as reducing the pressure upon emergency sections in hospitals, the Ministry has announced increasing the number of centers, which are working both day and night shifts in Riyadh, from 7 up to 30 centers.

These centers will begin to work with effect from tomorrow, Monday, November 15th, 2016 (corresponding to Safar 15th, 1438H), given that their working hours are decided to be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Thus, the center will provide its usual health services from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and will continue to provide emergency health service until 11:00 p.m.

This initiative aims at providing emergency health services to citizens in the capital city. Accordingly, in response to the demands of the people of Riyadh, Riyadh Health Affairs General Directorate planned to begin the activation of 35 centers on duty spread over the city's districts (totaling one-third of its centers).

It is worth mentioning that the MOH has provided centers on duty to offer this service in other regions of the Kingdom. This matter has been lauded by residents of these regions, in terms of its appropriateness with the employees’ working end-times, as it was an obstacle for most citizens to receive therapeutic services before launching this service.
