Pilgrims Underwent 341 Cardiac Catheterizations, 17 Open-Heart Surgeries and 2.055 Dialysis Sessions at MOH Hospitals

The MOH hospitals in the Holy Capital (Makkah), Madinah and the Holy Sites conducted over the period from the 1st of Dhul-Qidah up to Thursday,  Dhul-Hijjah 10, 1436H, a total of 341 cardiac catheterizations, 17 open-heart surgeries, and 2.055 dialysis sessions (of both types: hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis), in addition to 19 gastroscopies. These hospitals also witnessed five childbirths. All this comes as part of the advanced health services provided by the Ministry of Health (MOH), as well as the specialized and quality programs it introduces to save lives, and within its advanced programs to provide healthcare for pilgrims.

MOH stated that about 321.194 diseased pilgrims visited the health facilities in Makkah, Madinah and the Holy Sites during the same period. Hospitals have provided their therapeutic services for 57.860 patients, while 263.334 patients have benefited from the primary healthcare services offered by the health centers.

Meanwhile, the MOH daily statistical release indicated that outpatient clinics of the said hospitals provided their services for 42.055 patients, while 15.805 patients benefited from the ambulatory services.

The statement indicated that 3.566 patients were admitted to the health facilities in Makkah and Madinah in the period from the 1st of Dhul-Qidah up to Dhul-Hijjah 10, 1436H, while 2.652 patients have been discharged from the hospitals, bringing the number of the inpatients of MOH health facilities up to Monday evening, to 1.049 patients.

Additionally, MOH hospitals at the different Hajj areas witnessed five childbirths, as they are fully prepared with equipments, medical and technical staff to receive and deal with such cases.
