Two Childbirths Reported at East Arafat Hospital
24 September 2015
East Arafat Hospital witnessed the first two natural childbirths this year after two female pilgrims, from Mali and Burma, had pains of childbirth at Mount Arafat, where they were transferred to the hospital immediately. The hospital’s medical and nursing staff received the two cases and transferred them to the maternity section, where they gave birth.

It is worth mentioning that East Arafat Hospital accommodates specialized clinics for children, women, midwifery, otolaryngology and ophthalmology. Also, the hospital accommodates a fully-equipped delivery room for natural childbirth, containing an incubator, a respirator and a device to drain hazardous liquids from the child. The hospital is also equipped with separate sections for diagnostic radiology, CT scans and electronic fetal monitoring. There are other sections for fixed and mobile x-ray machines, pharmacy, sterilization and infection control, in addition to a specialized clinic for general health.
