Al-Falih: Comprehensive Health Plan at Work in Mina, Arafat, and along Jamarat Bridge

His Excellency the Minister of Health, Eng. Khaild bin AbdulAziz Al-Falih, assured that the Ministry of Health (MOH) is well prepared for emergency events, with a comprehensive emergency plan to be carried out when dealing with critical cases or any crisis – Allah forbid. He noted that MOH is done with its preventive, ambulatory, and therapeutic preparations, and is ready to receive pilgrims on the Nafrah Day and Tashreeq Days in Mina, Arafat, Muzdalifah, along the Jamarat Bridge, and the Pedestrian Road. The Ministry prepared 8 hospitals with total bed capacity of 1.316 beds, including 212 ICU beds, and 145 ER beds. All of the those hospitals are equipped with the most advanced medical supplies and labs; supported with highly qualified medical, administrative, and technical cadres in order to provide healthcare services in Mina. 

Additionally, there are 78 health centers scattered across Mina, 16 health centers along the Jamarat Bridge; all prepared to treat cases on the spot till they are stable enough to be sent to the nearest hospital. Al-Falih indicated that those health facilities are supported with 155 well-equipped ambulances that provide world class ambulatory services: 55 big ambulances, plus 100 small well-equipped ambulances that serve as mobile ICUs and are staffed with highly qualified medical crews trained to perform the relevant tasks. 

Al-Falih concluded his statement with thanking the Custodian of the TWO Holy Mosques, King Salman bin AbdulAziz, HRH the Crown Prince, and HRH the Deputy Crown Prince for their unstinting support and follow-up, and harnessing all capabilities to offer excellent healthcare services to pilgrims and ensure their comfort and safety from day one till they leave the Kingdom back to their countries.
