In a message he delivered to MOH staffer on this occasion, Eng. Al-Falih said:

"I appreciate the unceasing efforts you exert for the sake of your beloved country as well as your keenness to carry your work to perfection in this vital field. Actually, the Ministry of Health (MOH) proudly looks upon you as its cornerstone, through which it carries out its activities and achieves its goals. Of course, you realize that the development process witnessed by the MOH cannot achieve its desirable goals without your effective participation, interaction and cooperation in favor of the coming steps aimed at developing and upgrading services provided by the Ministry of Health. Accordingly, we hope you could double your efforts and creative initiatives in the coming period in order to ensure success of this developmental process in a manner that meets aspirations of the rulers, May Allah protect them, and fulfill the health needs of citizens."

He added, "Although we still have a long way to go, and our endeavors to upgrade healthcare services are boundless, we are confident that the MOH has sufficient capabilities and creative incumbents who are able to achieve our hopes and bring our aspirations to reality, Allah willing."

He went on saying, "As you all know, the MOH is currently passing through an important phase of its developmental process, so we are working along two parallel tracks. In the long term, the Ministry will outline a strategic plan to introduce radical reforms to its businesses, activities and operational styles in line with the latest developments in the fields of management and work methods. In the short and medium terms, the Ministry will exert extra efforts to raise the level of performance in all sectors by way of increasing productivity and upgrading the level of quality and performance standards.”

According to Eng. Al-Falih, “the most important features of the new interim organizational structure include enabling His Excellency the Vice Minister to fully assume his powers and responsibilities for all activities related to health services, including the provision of health services and operation-related activities, whether at the MOH’s headquarters or across the  health regions, in addition to introducing a new agency for planning, health economics and turnaround management to be mainly concerned with the strategic planning for services as well as ways of funding and managing such services, in addition to health economics for the services provided. The agency will prepare also work plans necessary for transforming the MOH’s business ways and styles in a manner that suits the new requirements.”

Concluding his message, the Minister prayed for Almighty Allah to protect the leader of our blessed march, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, as well as His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and His Royal Highness the Deputy Crown Prince, and to perpetuate the Kingdom’s stability and security, and make our deeds purely for His sake.
