The Ministry of Health (MOH) has warned citizens and residents against using of the brain electrical stimulation device, which has been promoted under the commercial name: “Alpha-Stim” in social networks and some mass media. The Ministry indicated that the National Committee for the promotion of Mental Health has found, after inspection and coordination with the relevant scientific authorities, that the device is not licensed, and that its scientific usefulness is not proven.
Meanwhile, MOH has directed all the health affairs directorates in the regions and provinces to conduct inspection tours to the specialized mental clinics or those which are located inside medical complexes, hospitals or any private health institutions to make sure that they are free from this device, file violations against those who sell it, promote for it or use it in treating patients, as well as taking statutory legal actions against them.
