Eng. Al-Falih Leads the Kingdom's Delegation to the Meetings of the 68th Session of the WHO General Assembly

His Excellency the Minister of Health, Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, will lead the Saudi delegation due to participate in the meetings of the 68th session of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) General Assembly (GA), which will be held over the period from 18th to 26th, May 2015, corresponding to (Rajab 29th to Shaaban 8th, 1436), in Geneva, Switzerland.
 
The meetings of the general assembly will focus this year on the issue of building health systems capable of steadfastness, in addition to addressing a number of health topics of a global nature, including the fight against non-communicable diseases, health improvement, controlling, surveillance, response and communicable diseases including "Ebola and MERS Coronavirus", that's to be added to health systems, the global vaccine action plan, as well as implementing the international health regulations and other important topics.
 
In a similar fashion, Eng. Al-Falih and his accompanying delegation will participate in World Health Organization's Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean, on Sunday May 17th 2015, corresponding to Rajab 28th 1436 H. In addition, a daily morning meeting will be held throughout the days of GA meetings.
 
Furthermore, the Kingdom's delegation will participate in the meetings of the 44th regular session of Arab Health Ministers to be held -Allah willing- on Monday May 18th 2015, corresponding to Rajab 29th 1436H, whereas a number of topics will be discussed including, the health situation in Yemen and Palestinian territories, health researches in the Arab states, unification of health regulations in the Arab states and the Arabian Commission for Blood Transfusion Services. The sidelines of the GA meetings will witness organization of the 79th conference of the GCC Health Ministers Council in its 40th session on Wednesday May 20th, 2015, corresponding to Shaaban 2nd, 1436 H, as Eng. Al-Falih will deliver a speech at the beginning of the conference which will discuss a number of topics including, controlling non-communicable diseases, expatriate workers, the e-linkage portal, Yemen's portion in the budget of the executive office and the performance of health systems.
 
It's worth noting hers that the Saudi delegation will participate under the leadership of his Excellency the Minister of Health and the membership of the Deputy Minister for Public Health, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Saeed, the Assistant Deputy Minister for Preventive Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Mifreh Assiri, the Director-General of the Ministry of Health (MOH) Hereditary and Chronic Diseases Control, Dr. Mohammed bin Yahia Saeedi, and the acting Supervisor-General of International Relations, Dr. Hessa Al-Mutairi.
