MOH Launches Tomorrow the Limited National Campaign for Polio Vaccination

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced the launch of the Limited National Campaign for Polio Vaccination, tomorrow “Sunday”, in the sites of Hajj, Umrah and the Southern Borders regions. This campaign targets all the children, whether Saudis or residents, aged five years and below.
 
The Director General of Communicable Diseases Control at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ra’fat Al-Hakeem, has pointed out that the campaign will pay visits to homes and the primary health care centers in Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, Jazan, Najran and Asir to administer the seven-day first dose. After a month, it will be followed by the second dose which will last for another week in the same regions.
 
Dr. Al-Hakeem went on adding that the MOH National Scientific Committee, that comprises all Kingdom’s health sectors in its membership, has recommended to keep on launching the annual campaigns for polio vaccination, with the aim to protect our children and keep the Kingdom free of polio, according to the guidelines and standards of the international centers and world organizations meant to combat diseases, most notably the World Health Organization (WHO).
 
Within the same vein, the Ministry has called upon all citizens and residents to cooperate and support the vaccination teams; in an endeavor to ensure the success of the campaign, and protect all our dear children, Allah willing.
