18 Open-Heart Operations and 1.336 Dialysis Sessions Conducted on Pilgrims

The MOH hospitals and health centers in Makkah, Madinah and the Holy Sites have continued to provide general and specialized health services (3rd and 4th levels) for pilgrims. The MOH statistical statement has indicated that the hospitals and specialist centers in Makkah, Madinah and the Holy Sites, over the period from 1/11 to 12/12/1434H, have conducted open-heart operations on 18 diseased pilgrims, as well as 354 cardiac catheterization operations, 77 digestive endoscopy operations, and 1.336 dialysis sessions of both types (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis).
 
The Statistical Statement has also shown that the health facilities of Makkah, Madinah and the Holy sites have received a total number of 997.379 patient pilgrims over the above mentioned period. Hospitals have provided their services for 160.280 pilgrims, out of whom 124.825 pilgrims have been served by the outpatient clinics, and 35.455 pilgrims through ambulatory and emergency services.
 
Further, the statement mentioned that 837.099 pilgrims have benefited, over the very same period, from the primary healthcare centers diffused throughout Makkah, Madinah and the Holy Sites.
 
In addition, the Statistical Statement showed that 3.417 pilgrims has been hospitalized at the various specialized sections of the MOH hospitals located in the Hajj sites. By now, 2.894 pilgrims have already left hospitals after receiving the necessary treatment, whereas the number of pilgrims still receiving treatment at MOH hospitals in Makkah, Madinah and the Holy Sites, till the noon of 11/12/1434H, is 675 patients.
 
And within the framework of the health services provided for pilgrims, the MOH hospitals has witnessed 17 birth deliveries of women who had come to perform Hajj.
