During the MOH Executive Board Meeting, Dr. Al-Rabeeah Underscores the Importance of Quality and Patient Safety

His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, has stressed on the importance of  quality, patient safety and medication programs, in an endeavor to earn patient satisfaction, thus adhering to the MOH slogan: “Patient First”. “These are the values and principles that MOH seeks to entrench; so as to be its work approach along with transparency, honesty and credibility,” said Dr. Al-Rabeeah.
 
During the fourth meeting of the MOH Executive Board for this year (1434H), recently held at the MOH headquarter under the chairmanship of His Excellency the Minister of Health, he has called upon each department to create its own guide of policies and procedures in order to be able to carry out their responsibilities in the best manner, meanwhile working in line with the objectives of the MOH Strategic Plan, as well as moving from circular style to quality control tools within the administrative work. Moreover, Dr. Al-Rabeeah has stressed on the importance of Sentinel Events Program; in an endeavor to prevent these errors, and the necessity for the permanent and continuous coordination between MOH departments and Health Affairs Directorates throughout the regions about this program.
 
During the meeting, the Board members agreed upon the recommendations of the committee in charge of developing the mechanisms and a comprehensive image of assessing the companies and institutions submitting to MOH's tenders. Besides, these recommendations included the emphasis on health affairs directorates throughout the regions and provinces not to delay submitting extracts and payments requests of contractors and suppliers.
 
The Board reviewed the results of the workshops meant to improving the maintenance works, stressing on the need to activate the role of follow-up and legal affairs departments in following up all complaints related to maintenance, as well as moving from mechanisms and concepts of the “Project Management” applications to the comprehensive and integrated “Facility Management” applications. Besides, the board assigned the Assistant Agency for Engineering Affairs to start implementing it.
 
Within the same vein, the Board also discussed the plan of the Medical Research and Studies General Department and stressed on the importance of drawing greater attention to the public research conducted by the MOH to improve its work, aside from the need to promote the culture of research in the health sciences, thus becoming one of the MOH approaches and the culture of the work.
 
Finally, the Board members extended their thanks to those in charge of the Organizational Development Project for the Administrative and Financial Affairs, dubbed: “Tayseer”, which is reckoned a paradigm shift to the Ministry of Health.
