MOH Media Information and Health Awareness Center Hosts Doctors to Answer Pilgrims' Questions

   ​For the second subsequent week, the MOH Media Information and Health Awareness Center hosts senior doctors to answer pilgrims' health questions about their physical ability to perform pilgrimage safely. The service dubbed “Pilgrims' Health Is Our Concern” is launched by the Center for the eighth year in a row on the toll-free number: 8002494444, and on Twitter @saudimoh.

On Saturday, October 13, 2012, the Center hosted Dr. Nisreen Al-Sherbini, consultant of infectious diseases and fevers, to give pilgrims and audience tips to protect themselves form infectious diseases. 

On the same day, from 1 to 3 pm, the Center hosted Dr. Nasser bin Falah Al-Dosari, consultant liver and digestive system diseases at King Saud Medical Complex, to answer patients' questions.

On Sunday, October 14, 2012, from 1 to 3 pm, the Center hosted Dr. Safia El-Sherbini, diabetes and endocrine consultant, to advise diabetics about the most important medications during pilgrimage and how to deal with the disease to lessen the risk of low or high blood sugar, and other tips.

Dr. Jameel Faqiha, orthopedic consultant, was invited by the Program on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, to speak about bone diseases and problems and how patients can perform pilgrimage without problems. He will be at the Center at 1-3 PM.

Dr. Yahia Abu-Saba'a, respiratory diseases consultant, on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, from 10 am to 12 pm, will tackle the precautions for patients with allergies and chest diseases, and how to avoid symptoms.

The Ministry of Health has prepared, for the pilgrimage season of 1433H, 25 hospitals (four at Arafat, four at Mena, seven in the Sacred Capital, nine at Medina, besides the King Abdullah Medical City).

Hospitals at pilgrimage areas offer about 5250 clinical beds (4200 for specialized departments, 500 for intensive care, 550 for emergencies).
