Media Information and Health Awareness Center Presents Health Awareness Sessions throughout the Hajj Season

   Within the framework of the efforts made by the Ministry of Health to publicize the health services which the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, May Allah protect him, has provided for the Hajj pilgrims, and seeking to preserve pilgrims' health and safety, the Media Information and Health Awareness Center participates, for the eighth running year, with health awareness and tutorial sessions. They are to include telephone calls through (Our Life) program in the Saudi Television, Channel 1, which is aired daily at 1 pm. The Center has been keen on such a step due to its great importance, as the visual media enjoys wide-scale spread and has great resonance and viewing among the public.
 
The program will be interviewing the Center's specialists; each one of them is to shed light on an aspect of the important aspects in a sequential way to maintain the pilgrim's health and safety. Besides, the viewers are to be waiting daily as of Saturday October 6th, 2012, the most important Hajj-related topics. Thus, the first of such topics is intended to give awareness guidelines before performing the rituals, in addition to speaking on the importance of preparing the medical bag and health requirements which the Hajj and Umrah performers must meet, and the procedures to be taken. More importantly, it is to focus on the vaccination topic with Ph. Mervat Abdullah Ba-Rajaa.
 
For her part, Ph. Al-Bindary Sa'ad Al-Beshi is to touch upon some tips meant to limit the injury of respiratory tract diseases on Sunday October 7th, 2012. Shortly after that, Ph. Amal bint Moa'awaya Abu Al-Jadayel is to present tips on the most important awareness guidelines for women during performing the Hajj on Monday October 8th, 2012. In addition, the diabetic patients have a share of these guidelines; Ph. Munira Al-Tuwaihar is to introduce the viewers with the most important diabetic-patient-related tips on Tuesday, October 9th, 2012.
 
On Wednesday October 10th, 2012, the specialist Afra'a Al-Abdullah is to speak on the most important first-aid during the Hajj, and provides for (Our Life) program's viewers information and guidelines that must be followed with regard to hair-cutting during the Hajj. Also, Ph. Amal Mo'awiyah Abu Al-Jadayel is to give briefing on heart diseases during the Hajj on Thursday 11th, 2012. Furthermore, Ph. Al-Bindary Sa'ad Al-Bishi is to have a phone call on Friday October 12th, 2012, in order to speak on digestive tract diseases, and the problems from which the pilgrims suffer a s a result of having their meals in different ways and places than what they are accustomed to.
 
As for the dermatological diseases, it is to have a share of the episodes of (Our Life) program. Ph. Mea'ad Abdulrazek is to touch upon the dermatological diseases during the Hajj, the importance of cleanliness, and the risk resulting from neglecting such a side on Saturday October 13th, 2012.
 
And the nutritionist Bushra Al-Rabeeah is to conclude the awareness telephone calls, provided by the Media Information and Health Awareness Center for (Our Life) program's viewers, on Sunday and Monday, October 14th-15th, 2012. She is to speak on the prevention from food-borne illness during the Hajj, stress on the importance of cleanliness, and some pieces of advice on cleanliness while slaughtering the sacrifice.
 
It is worth mentioning that these calls are to include displaying the most important messages and tips, which the MOH's telephone service provides for its subscribers and the pilgrims as well, through the TV screen. In addition, this is to include displaying the toll-free number of the Media Information and Health Awareness Center: 8002494444, which receives the pilgrims' inquiries within the (Pilgrims' Health) service, and the Hajj website (www.moh.gov.sa/haj).
