MOH Supplies the Holy Places' Hospitals with Advanced Medical and Non-Medical Equipment

   Dr. Salah Al-Mazrou, Advisor to the Minister of Health and Supervisor-General of the Medical Supply Department and Equipment Department has announced that the Ministry has renovated the medical and non-medical equipment of the hospitals of the Holy Places, and introduced new devices and appliances to be used for the first time. According to Al-Mazrou, 50 million riyals have been allocated to develop and renovated the intensive care equipment and devices, by introducing high-frequency respirators and advanced anesthesia devices, in addition to 12 advanced cooling device, for sunstroke treatment, and 10 intensive care devices (for 150.000 riyals each) for the treatment of high temperature and thermal stress. All such renovations are basically dedicated for this Hajj season and seasons to come.
Dr. Al-Mazrou said, “Portable radiology devices have been introduced, so as to be moved to the inpatients receiving treatment in emergency sections.” He also added that the hospitals of the Holy Places have been supplied with digestive endoscopy and 40 dialysis devices, in addition to allocating 15 million riyals for renovation of the medical and non-medical equipment of these hospitals.
By now, Al-Mazrou continued, 345 medicines and 606 medicines and 606 medical supplies have been provided and distributed to 7 hospitals in Mena and Arafat to serve pilgrims; whereas 67 medicines and 68 medical supplies have been distributed to 100 health centers in Mena, Arafat, Muzdalifah and the Jamarat Bridge.
Concluding his statement, Dr. Al-Mazrou said that a blood transmission ambulance equipped with a refrigerator for keeping blood has been provided for the purpose of transmitting blood among the hospitals of the Holy Places. Meantime, he emphasized that all the vaccinations, medicines and medical and non-medical supplies are available at the hospitals based in (and in the surroundings of) the Holy Places.
