Minister of Health Announces the Expansion of Al-Ansar Hospital in Madinah
01 November 2011
Page Content
His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, has announced the expansion of Al-Ansar Hospital in Madina, and raising its capacity so as to cover the increasing numbers of Hajj pilgrims pouring into the Prophet's Mosque, as this hospital is located in the Central Region surrounding the Sanctuary of Madinah.
Dr. Al-Rabeeah made this announcement during his inspection tour through the health centers located in the surroundings of the Sanctuary of Madinah, accompanied by Dr. Mansour bin Nasser Al-Hawasi, Deputy Minister of Executive Affairs; Dr. Mohammed Hamza Khusheim, Deputy Minister of Planning and Development; Dr. Salah Al-Mazrou, Advisor to the Minister of Health and Supervisor-General of Medical Supply and Equipment; Dr. Aqeel Al-Ghamdi, Assistant Deputy Minister of Curative Medicine; Dr. Khaled bin Mohammed Merghalani, Director-General of Media and Health Awareness, spokesperson of the Ministry of Health; and Dr. Abdullah bin Ali Al-Ta'ifi, Director-General of Health Affairs in Madinah.
The Minister and the delegation accompanying him have set out their tour from Al-Ansar Hospital (with its capacity of 100 beds), where they listened to the explanation given by Dr. Farid Abdulmohsen Al-Nuzhah, director of the hospital, on the medical services the hospital provides for pilgrims. Dr. Al-Rabeeah, then, toured inside the hospital and came across the emergency and intensive care sections, as well as the outpatient clinics, to check on the inpatients' health. He emphasized that the Kingdom shows keen interest, manifested in the directions and instructions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, in the preservation of pilgrims' health and safety, as evident in.
It followed that His Excellency paid a visit to Bab Jebril Health Center, where he inspected its divisions and clinics, as well as its workflow. He concluded his tour with a visit to the new Al-Safia Health Center, as he checked on the renovated and newly equipped sections in preparation for the reopening of the center for the service of the guests of Allah pretty soon.
As the tour drew to a close, Dr. Al-Rabeeah was quoted as saying, “Thanks be to Allah Almighty that the health situation of all pilgrims is very reassuring and stable. No epidemic cases have been detected, and all the cases received in hospitals and health centers during this Hajj season are due to fatigue or epidemic diseases.”
“The Ministry of Health,” he added, “has prepared 9 hospitals and 12 health centers in Madinah, equipped with advanced intensive-care appliances, with a view to providing high-quality curative services for pilgrims. I had a tour at Al-Ansar Hospital, which, being located in the Central Region, is largely reckoned the first defense line against diseases for pilgrims in the Sanctuary of Madinah. It is for this very reason that the hospital will undergo expansion and development work, such that makes it accommodate the growing number of pilgrims and provide the best and fullest curative services for them.”
Dr. Al-Rabeeah went on to say, “Al-Ansar Hospital supports two health centers based in this region; the first is Bab Jebril Health Center, and the second is Al-Safia Health Center, which is a newly established two-storey center, comprising emergency clinics and sections for preventive health and curative follow-up. It will be equipped with the state-of-the-art medical appliances to provide curative services of highest quality.”
In conclusion of his announcement, His Excellency the Minister of Health prompted pilgrims to abide by the instructions and health requirements, to preserve their (as well as the others') health. He also made clear that the Ministry makes every effort to prepare a healthy and safe Hajj environment for all pilgrims. And finally, he wished their pilgrimage to be accepted, and their sins to be redeemed.
