His Excellency the Minister of Health, Mr. Fahd bin Abdul Rahman Al-Jalajel, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister - may Allah bless them - for their unlimited support for the health sector and its employees.On the occasion of the appointment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s candidate, Dr. Hanan Bint Hassan Balkhi, to the position of the WHO’s Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Office, His Excellency stated that this generous trust from the wise leadership reflects the support and interest given to sons and daughters of the nation which motivated them to assume many leadership positions representing the Kingdom in various fields at the regional and global levels and in the most important international organizations.His Excellency added that the Kingdom’s candidate victory in the elections for the WHO’ s Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Office is an important historical event. The Kingdom's candidate represents the first woman in the history of the organization's office for the Eastern Mediterranean region to be elected to this position, and it confirms the support and empowerment that Saudi women enjoy in all fields from the wise leadership throughout the history of Saudi Arabia.The Minister also pointed out that what the Kingdom is witnessing today, with its distinguished competencies assuming high-level leadership positions on both the local and international sides, and their ability to gain the confidence of voters in many international organizations. It is only evidence of the excellence, competence, and leadership that sons and daughters of the Kingdom have achieved in various fields, in light of the support of the leader of Saudi Vision 2030, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz - may Allah bless them.His Excellency stressed that the great development of the kingdom in all fields, and the continuous progress achieved by the health sector, reflects the Kingdom’s keenness to qualify its human staff to provide the opportunity for the Kingdom to become an active member in supporting and developing international health organizations.The Minister also explained that the successful experience of the health sector in the Kingdom over the past years has witnessed remarkable interest from major global health institutions, especially with regard to the exceptional efforts in confronting the Covid-19 pandemic. These efforts provided distinguished lessons in the field of keeping pace between providing health care, health education, and other fields. They also reflected the technical superiority of the health system represented in digital health solutions, virtual care, and data management and analysis, which made the Kingdom an ideal model in dealing with the pandemic and in providing health care at the international level.His Excellency also expressed his pride of Saudi competencies in various fields especially in the health field, praising their important role in honoring their country and representing it well. HE also declared that the great support of the wise leadership to promote the health sector led the Kingdom to excellence in various fields at the international level. We pray to protect the Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques and His Highness trustworthy Crown Prince, and may Allah perpetuate progress and prosperity in this country.
