A medical team specializing in maxillofacial surgery succeeded in restoring the cheekbone of a young "resident" after he fell from the top of a mountain and from a height of 4 meters, and sustained multiple serious fractures in the facial bones, and shattered the cheekbone in a 4-hour surgery – All Praises be to Allah.
Jeddah Health confirmed that the patient arrived at the emergency and accident department suffering from multiple serious injuries to the face, where he received first aid and the necessary medical examinations were conducted for him, the results of which showed the presence of multiple serious fractures in the facial bones, and an appropriate treatment plan was urgently drawn up.
Jeddah Health indicated that an integrated medical team was immediately formed, and all medical and diagnostic radiological examinations were completed. Which showed the presence of multiple fractures in the facial bones, shattering of the cheekbone, and lacerated wounds in the face, and the patient was prepared for an urgent operation to completely restore the cheekbone, fix facial fractures, and cosmetically suture facial wounds, after which the patient was transferred to regular inpatient wards, and health care was provided until his health condition was stable, and his exit, in good health and safety.
It is noteworthy that the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at King Abdullah Medical Complex in Jeddah performed 68 operations during the first half of 2023.
