Najran Health said that a medical team at King Khaled Hospital in Najran was able, thanks to Allah, to end a patient's suffering from chronic pain in the lower abdomen and pelvis and continuous bleeding. Clinical and radiological examinations that were conducted for her when attending the emergency department confirmed the presence of fibroids around the uterine area, after which it was decided to perform a catheter under local anesthesia, thanks to Allah, through which the fibroids were removed without any complications and without the need for a hysterectomy.
The medical team treating the case indicated that the patient was transferred to the inpatient department, and her health condition was monitored by the nursing teams, and treatment was provided to her. She was discharged from the hospital on the second day after the catheterization procedure and the removal of fibroids while she was healthy and safe.
The team added that these types of advanced procedures replace hysterectomy and prevent patient's exposure to complications of surgical procedures.
