Cardiologists in Hail region were able to save the life of a resident whose heart had stopped for 40 minutes, and an urgent medical intervention taking more than 30 minutes was successfully executed, All Praises be to Allah.
Hail Health Cluster confirmed that the emergency medical team at King Salman Specialist Hospital received a case of a Filipino resident after he suffered a heart attack and a sudden stop of the heart muscle within the course thereof.
The medical team treating the case confirmed that cardiopulmonary resuscitation was performed immediately for about 40 minutes by means of the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) device and the aortic balloon pump, and the completion of opening of the coronary artery that caused the acute crisis, as a result of the acute myocardial infarction, which led to vascular shock to the heart and sudden stop of the heart.
The team indicated that the patient was transferred to the intensive cardiac care, so that the case would be followed up by the medical teams and nursing cadres until the condition stabilized and be discharged from the hospital.
It is worth mentioning that the Heart Center at King Salman Specialist Hospital performed 1,230 catheterization operations during the past six months, while cardiac care received 962 patients, and treatment services were provided in the inpatient departments for 568 patients.
