MOH: More than 80,000 Pilgrims Received Medical Services in Makkah and Al-Madinah

​Ministry of Health stated that the number of pilgrims who received treatment services through hospitals and health centers in Makkah and Al-Madinah reached (80,973) pilgrims from the first day of the month of Dhul-Qi’dah until Sunday corresponding to the seventh day of Dhul-Hijjah 1444H.

MOH said that pilgrims benefited from specialized and qualitative treatment services, as hospitals provided a set of services, including (23) open heart operations, (168) cardiac catheterizations, (464) dialysis operations, and (41) endoscopy operations were performed. However, (1749) pilgrims were admitted to hospitals, and (2) childbirths were recorded. Seha virtual hospital participated in some services, as the total number of beneficiaries of virtual health services reached (869).
It is noteworthy that, during this year's Hajj season 1444H, Ministry of Health equipped its health facilities in Makkah, the Holy Sites, and Al-Madinah to provide treatment services to the guests of Rahman, as the number of hospitals reached (32), supported by (140) healthcare centers, and its bed capacity increased to (6132) beds, while the number of beds designated for intensive care reached (761) beds, the number of beds designated for sunstroke reached (222), and the number of health staff qualified to serve the guests of Rahman reached about (32) thousand practitioners. The Ministry has also prepared medical points on the Mashaer Train and Al-Haramain Train, and has intensified its efforts in the central area of the Holy Mosque in Makkah, in addition to providing (190) ambulances, and preparing (16) emergency centers on the Jamarat Bridge facility in Mina.
