Ministry of Health has completed its readiness to provide health services to pilgrims of the Sacred House in Makkah coming to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through 14 air, land and sea ports, to perform Hajj rituals for this year 1444H. The Ministry stated that it has set a number of health requirements at the ports with the aim of preventing introduction of diseases, and avoiding occurrence of outbreaks to maintain health security, based on its keenness to excel in providing pioneering and distinctive preventive and curative services during the Hajj season, which accompany the pilgrims' journey from their countries until they finish performing their rituals with all ease and simplicity; Through an integrated system, and tight health strategies in health control centers at the ports, which are implemented in stages, according to the plan followed throughout the year, and completed before start of the Hajj season. Ministry of Health added: Health services at the entry points of pilgrims are the first line of defense in maintaining health security for Hajj, in addition to following up on precautionary measures in accordance with epidemiological developments and international health regulations that apply to those coming for Hajj, their luggage and means of transport, and include updating health requirements, instructions and advice for Hajj, based on the global epidemiological situation, including requirements that must be met before issuing the Hajj visa, which are provided to all countries before start of the Hajj season, and circulated to all competent authorities within the Kingdom, and then the accurate health assessment of travelers upon their arrival at the ports, and this includes detection of infectious diseases symptoms, health history of travelers, in addition to health awareness and instructions for those wishing to perform the Hajj. Ministry of Health also carries out a lot of cooperation and coordination with ministries of health in the countries from which pilgrims come in the field of applying health requirements. MOH confirmed that health control centers at all land, sea and air ports have been equipped with necessary requirements to carry out the roles entrusted thereto, including manpower to operate the ports around the clock during the season, curative and preventive medical supplies (vaccines, preventive medicines, etc.), and equipped ambulances to transfer cases. In coordination with all competent departments within Ministry of Health, to provide advanced services to the nearest hospital, and to ensure that all health requirements are applied to pilgrims coming to the Kingdom, especially from countries with high epidemiology of some diseases, to prevent the entry of any infectious diseases into the Kingdom, through health inspection of international travel documents; Which clarifies the vaccination of pilgrims in their countries (international vaccination certificates), health inspection on all means of transport (airplanes, ships, cars and buses), ensuring that they meet health requirements, and coordinating with relevant authorities at the port (Food and Drug Authority and Customs) to inspect the food coming with Pilgrims, recording numbers of arriving pilgrims, reporting preventive measures applied to pilgrims in their countries, and at the ports through the “Hesn” program, and monitoring this through electronic monitoring screens. Ministry of Health also provides other preventive services that include vaccinations for the targeted countries, and preventive treatment for those coming from the African belt countries for Meningitis., In addition to effective continuous monitoring and evaluation, a safe path is provided at the health outlets to deal with suspected cases, and coordination with relevant authorities through preparation of isolation rooms, and first aid intended for transmission of infectious diseases, in addition to training workers at the outlets, ensuring their use and their training on infection control procedures in order to ensure safety. Ministry of Health, in coordination with competent authorities at airports, land and sea ports, is keen to raise health awareness for pilgrims and their families upon arrival in the Kingdom, and implements many awareness initiatives at entry points through distributing educational leaflets and broadcasting educational programs through display screens in the halls using different languages such as Urdu. French, English, Indonesian and others, and to enhance international cooperation and coordination with international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to exchange information and successful experiences in the field of public health and travel safety, raise the level of health awareness in the field of infection control for workers at the ports, and ensure that All pilgrims receive necessary vaccinations before traveling, according to protocols issued and the annual plan. Ministry of Health indicated that the ports where medical services will be provided are: Jeddah Islamic Port, King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, Prince Abdul Mohsen bin Abdulaziz Airport in Yanbu, Taif International Airport, Al-Bathaa port, Rab' Al-khali port. Salwa port, King Fahd Bridge port, Al-Raqai port, New Arar port, Al-Haditha port, Halat Ammar port, and Al-Wadiah port.
