30 May 2023

His Excellency the Minister of Health, Professor Fahd bin Abdul Rahman Al-Jalajel, confirmed that smoking reduces the expected average age of Saudis by 1.6 years, which contradicts the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to raise the expected average age of citizens.

"Our health deserves the best, and smoking gives it the worst," he said in a tweet on his Twitter account.
In his tweet, His Excellency referred to the infographic published on the Live Healthy account, which states that there are simple steps that help to quit smoking, most notably avoiding smoking-inducing places, reviewing the diet, in addition to using nicotine substitutes and promoting social communication with physical activity.
The infographic also indicated the possibility of booking an appointment at anti-smoking clinics by calling the 937 center or though Sehhaty application for those interested.
