In Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah region, the specialized spine surgery teams, by the grace of Allah succeeded in ending the suffering of a young man by conducting a complex and urgent operation lasted for (10) hours to modify the spine, all praises be to Allah. The Ministry of Health said that Madinah Health Cluster confirmed that the medical teams in the Department of Spinal Surgery in King Salman Medical City were able to end the suffering of a young man who was unable to walk due to severe curvature in the thoracic and lumbar vertebrae. The patient came to hospital suffering from difficulty walking and severe curvature in the thoracic and lumbar vertebrae, and after conducting the necessary examinations, it became clear that it affected the spinal cord and the emergence of neurological symptoms in the lower limbs that caused difficulty in walking.The treating medical team confirmed that after completing the case study, it was decided to perform a complex surgery to modify the spine by means of a bone cut, stabilization of the vertebrae in the spine, and modification of the existing deformities. so that the patient is then transferred to the hospitalization department to follow up the treatment plan with doctors, nurses, and physiotherapists, and develop a treatment plan for recovery until his safe exit from the hospital. It is noteworthy that King Salman Medical City performed 2,817 surgeries during the first quarter of this year 2023, while outpatient clinics departments in the medical city received more than 94,000 patients, who were provided with the necessary medical care.
