A medical team specialized in heart surgeries was able to save the life of a young man in the Eastern Province, who was suffering from heart problems, by successfully performing a 4-hour surgery, all praises be to Allah.
Eastern Health Cluster indicated that Cardiologists at Saud Al-Babtain Cardiac Center; In cooperation with the doctors of King Fahd Specialist Hospital in Dammam, succeeded - by the grace of Allah - in conducting an urgent and rapid surgical intervention to remove fluid accumulation and a very large mass pressing on the heart.
The treating medical team confirmed that after performing the surgical opening, cleaning the area, and removing the mass, it became clear that there was a tumor, as a result of which part of the pericardial membrane around the heart was removed, and an opening was done for fluid drainage through the crystalline cavity of the chest tube, and a sample of the tumor was also sent to the laboratory for tissue analysis.
The treating team stated that the patient had been transferred to inpatient departments, to follow up on his health condition and the treatment plan until his condition stabilizes and be discharged from hospital.
It is worth noting that Saud Al-Babtain Cardiac Center (SBCC) in Dammam performed 607 surgeries during the past year, while the number of beneficiaries of outpatient services reached more than 40 thousand beneficiaries, and the number of treatment services provided to beneficiaries in emergency departments reached 2544 beneficiaries, and doctors were also able to perform 3073 cardiac catheterizations during the same period.
