A medical team at Maternity and Children Hospital in Hail ended suffering of an 8-year-old child after a complex corrective operation enabling him to walk.
Hail Health Cluster confirmed that medical teams at Maternity and Children Hospital succeeded, praises be to Allah, in ending the child suffering from a congenital defect called " Spina bifida ", through a surgery to correct complex clubfoot in the feet and return to walking normally.
Hail Health Cluster said: The child has been suffering since birth from Spina bifida, which affected his feet, in addition to frequent ulcers and bone infections until he lost ability to walk about 14 months ago. A complex surgery was done to correct deviation of the feet by cutting and adjusting bones and tendons and installing gypsum, then the child regained his ability to walk weeks after the operation and his condition is stable and he is undergoing physical therapy, stated in the treatment protocols in such cases.
It is noteworthy that in November, maternity and children's hospital emergency section received 9,856 cases, while 7,007 benefited from outpatient services, 383 surgeries were performed, and 1,494 cases were admitted.
