A medical team in the Department of Urology and Nephrology successfully ended suffering of a patient with urinary incontinence that plagued her for 30 years, in a complex surgery, praises be to Allah. Medical team in King Fahd Hospital in Al-Hofuf, affiliated with Al-Ahsa Health Cluster, confirmed that patient underwent several surgeries in different centers outside KSA, which were unsuccessful due to complexity of her case. They said that after conducting meticulous clinical medical examinations, they discovered that she had three urinary fistulas originating from ureters, bladder and urethra, which caused her involuntary urinary incontinence throughout this period. They decided to perform 3 complex operations in one operation that lasted for (7) hours, during which the ureter was re-implanted in the bladder and the bladder wall was repaired with suturing the orifice of the fistula, and the urethra was repaired with a tissue graft from the same patient, after which x-rays were repeated after a month of performing the complex operation and there were no signs of any health problems. The treating team indicated that this surgery is considered a qualitatively rare surgery, praising the efficiency of the surgical team and their high skills by using the latest advanced medical technology in this field. It is noteworthy that hospital performed 536 surgeries last October, and the number of emergency services beneficiaries during the same period reached (9227) referrals, while the number of patients in clinic departments reached (11,136) beneficiaries.
