The Oral and Maxillofacial team at Qassim Regional Dental Center managed to remove a huge tumor in the lower jaw of a patient who had been complaining of severe pain for a long period of time due to that tumor in the anterior-central region of the lower jaw, which caused him facial disfigurement.
Qassim Health Cluster stated that since the case arrived, necessary x-rays and medical examinations were conducted, which showed a large tumor that nearly caused a double fracture of the patient's jaw due to the severe erosion it had caused in the jaw bones. The remaining part of the lower jaw bones became very thin, and based on what was reported, an appropriate treatment plan was developed, and an urgent surgical intervention was performed using local anesthesia to remove the tumor and an orthopedic splint was made to accelerate bone formation and ensure that there were no complications after the surgery, then the patient left the center in a good health.
It is worth noting that the Qassim Health has served 86,539 cases during the past 9 months of this year. The total number of visitors reached 57,042, and 14,807 prescriptions were dispensed, radiology departments served 8,744, and lab cases were 5,946.
