A medical team specialized in treatment and surgery of obesity in Diriyah Hospital managed a gastric sleeve operation successfully for an obese patient weighing more than (183) kilograms with a body mass 67 suffering from multiple health complications and problems, including impaired mobility and inability to practice daily activities. Riyadh Third Health Cluster stated that the patient visited the clinic at the Obesity Surgery Center in Diriyah, and after reviewing his medical history and conducting initial clinical examinations, lab tests and x-rays, it was found that he suffers from excessive obesity and overweight, which caused him multiple health problems, such as disorders in sleeping, walking, moving, and breathing normally. Immediately, a medical team from various relevant specialties was formed for accurate medical assessment. After reporting the medical condition, an intensive treatment plan was developed beginning with diet, exercises, and behavioral therapy, to lose the initial weight and properly prepare the patient before starting the sleeve gastrectomy operation. According to the treatment approved to deal with such cases of obesity, the sleeve gastrectomy surgery was performed within the second phase of the treatment plan, which was done successfully, praise be to Allah. It is noteworthy that number of patients during the third quarter of 2022 in outpatient clinics amounted to 6,190, and number of emergency reporters was 7,653, while the number of surgical operations was 360, number of radiology visitors was 8,473 and 17,432 laboratory tests.
