120 Minutes Managed to Restore the Liver of a Patient in Tabuk

​A surgical team at King Khalid Hospital in Tabuk managed to save the life of a patient, returning the liver to its location, and repairing the diaphragm, after a near fatal traffic accident.

The medical team declared that the patient arrived at the hospital emergency by ambulance as a serious case. Immediately, the necessary medical examinations and CT scans were performed, which showed a tear in the right diaphragm and the liver moved to the right chest side next to the lung. As a result, the patient was admitted to the operating room where the surgeons opened the right chest, controlled the bleeding, repaired the diaphragm, and returned the liver to its location in the abdomen. The surgery which lasted for two hours was very successful, praise be to Allah.
 It is noteworthy that, during the past six months, King Khalid Hospital performed more than 1,946 specific surgeries, including 386 routine surgeries, while the number of one-day surgeries amounted to 656 surgeries, in addition to more than 904 surgeries for emergency cases
