Al-Jouf: Successful Orchiectomy at Prince Mutaib bin Abdulaziz Hospital in Sakakah
16 August 2022

By Allah’s Grace, the urology and kidney surgery team at Prince Mutaib bin Abdulaziz Hospital, in cooperation with Al-Jouf University’s College of Medicine, succeeded in removing a patient’s testicle during a qualitative laparoscopic surgery. The patient was diagnosed with the presence of the testicle inside the abdominal cavity. The patient left the hospital in good health.

In another qualitative surgery, the orthopedic team in the hospital managed to end the suffering of a patient who had sustained a serious hand injury, which led to the interruption of perfusion as a result of the displacement of the bones from their anatomical position, and pressing on the arteries feeding the hand. The emergency surgical intervention saved the injured hand from amputation, through bone repair and fixation; thus restoring hand perfusion. The surgery was crowned with success.

It is to be noted that the hospital, during the past month, has performed 270 surgical operations, and served 7,543 outpatients and 467 inpatients.
