Successful Qualitative Surgery at Prince Mutaib bin Abdulaziz Hospital-Sakaka
03 August 2022
Page Content
By Allah’s Grace, the colorectal surgery team at Prince Mutaib bin Abdulaziz Hospital-Sakaka has successfully performed a qualitative surgery for a female patient, who had been suffering from severe abdominal pain. After conducting due medical examinations, she was diagnosed with a rare congenital anomaly; due to the abnormal position of the spleen and left kidney, in addition to a rare condition of a severe torsion of the sigmoid and transverse colon.
The medical team decided to resect the transverse and sigmoid colon, resect the spleen, and reconnect the bowels, meanwhile maintaining the rest of the colon. The patient made a full recovery, and her condition improved.
