21 July 2022
Under the auspices of His Excellency the Vice Minister of Health for Planning and Development, Eng. Abdul Aziz Al-Rumaih, the Ministry of Health (MOH) launched yesterday (Wednesday) the Transformation Project from Cash-based Accounting to Accrual-based Accounting, at MOH’s headquarters in the Digital City. The actual launch of the project came after the success of the pilot phase, which was worked on by virtue of the noble royal order approving a project to transform all government entities from applying cash-based accounting to accrual-based accounting. The launching was followed by a workshop that featured an introductory presentation, in addition to a report on the current status of the project and a roadmap presentation.

It is worth mentioning that MOH is one of the first government entities to start working on this project, which is based on working in line with the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and building a solid economic base. This came in an endeavor to achieve one of the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 concerned with improving the quality of financial accounting, and enhancing transparency within the program to improve the government accounting system and accounting audit standards
