Sharurah General Help Restore Movement of Hand for a Patient Injured in a Traffic Crash
14 June 2022

By Allah’s Grace, a team of orthopedic surgeons at Sharurah General Hospital succeeded in performing an operation on a person with an open wound on the right wrist as a result of a road traffic crash, according to Najran Health Affairs.   After due medical screening, it was found that there was a complete severing of the nerves, major arteries, and tendons that move the fingers of the right hand leading to a lack of movement in the small muscles, with severe insufficiency of blood perfusion in the right hand and bleeding. Immediately, an operation was performed with a surgical microscope, during which the medical team was able to connect the arteries, nerves, and tendons, with the return of blood perfusion and blood circulation to the entire hand, and the return of nerve conduction to small muscles and the movement of hand and wrist tendons. The necessary medical care was also provided to the patient in the inpatient ward. He left the hospital in good health, praise be to Allah.
