According to Al-Jouf Health Affairs, since early this year (2022), Maternity and Children Hospital has provided physiotherapy services to 1,134 Patients.
Within the same vein, the hospital’s medical team has successfully saved a 5-year-old girl the trouble of using a wheelchair. The girl had a congenital hip dislocation on the right side, and she was referred to the physiotherapy department, while using a wheelchair after a surgery on her right hip joint. After due examinations, she was diagnosed with severe stiffness in her hip joint, weakness in the right leg muscles, short range of motion (ROM) of the hip joint, inability to walk independently, and Achilles tendon contracture.
The medical team has developed an intensive physiotherapy program for the girl, which included exercises to increase the range of motion of the joint, muscle strengthening exercises, in addition to gait training exercises. After two months of physiotherapy sessions, she was able to walk independently and correctly, all praise is due to Allah.
