By Allah’s Grace, the pediatric surgery team of Maternity and Children Hospital-Hafr Al-Batin has successfully saved a girl, who had been suffering from abdominal pain with continuous vomiting for more than two weeks. The results of examinations and x-rays showed the presence of 27 small magnet pieces of toy components in the girl's digestive system; which led to the occurrence of more than 8 holes in the intestinal wall (gastrointestinal perforation). The medical team agreed to perform a delicate surgery by making small holes in the abdominal wall, and extracting the magnet pieces, and then suturing the intestinal holes. The surgery, which took three and a half hours, was crowned with success. The child's condition had been followed up until she recovered. Then, she was discharged from the hospital in good health.
