According to Najran Health Affairs, the gastroenterology treatment team of King Khalid Hospital has successfully ended the suffering of a patient from an upper right abdominal pain accompanied by nausea and vomiting.
After due examinations and laboratory tests, the patient had been diagnosed with a bile duct obstruction without gallstones. The medical team has decided to perform endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) to extract the bile duct stone, but it was difficult to use the conventional technique due to the large size of the stone. By Allah’s Grace the medical team has performed laser lithotripsy, and the necessary health care has provided to the patient in the inpatient departments for one day. Then, he has been discharged from the hospital in good health.
It is noted that King Khalid Hospital-Najran has served 142 patients referred from outside the region over the past year.
