MOH, Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University Sign Cooperation and Partnership Agreement

MOH signed today a cooperation and partnership agreement with Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU), in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Health. 


The agreement aims to establish joint cooperation between the two parties through the research centers of the Deanship of Scientific Research at the University and MOH serving the joint fields of the two entities. It also aims to establish cooperation in research activities or scientific events that serve both parties in terms of holding scientific conferences and seminars in the fields of studies, research, and training in the university facilities with its scientific materials. It is expected to contribute to establishing research units concerned with health and social study fields, in addition to create statistical data and information exchange in common interest fields. 

This agreement also focuses on creating joint research cooperation in applied, social, and humanitarian research that serves the University and MOH's orientations, and enhances health quality for citizens. 

In accordance with this agreement, MOH will take part in rehabilitating the university’s laboratories by applying top-notch lab mechanisms, in addition to supplying the requirements necessary for medical and biological tests of samples, to ensure mutual benefits are achieved in both research and specialized labs, in addition to forming joint research committees to work together to provide solutions to the problems and challenges MOH deals with, and serve citizens and the society. These committees will work to enhance the quality of health care provided to society members through the research experiences of MOH and IMSIU. 

The capabilities of researchers at the University and MOH will be reinforced, via joint cooperation in implementing training sessions in the field of scientific research and its supporting computer software. Smart partnerships will also be established, and will include joint research groups that produce high-value scientific products.

The agreement will ensure joint scientific and research supervision for students graduating from the university and their graduation projects, with the support of MOH's labs, where they will be given proper training. Post-graduate students will also be benefiting from MOH's technological and medical capabilities. In addition, applied specialized university courses that are in line with the University's trends and strategic goals will be added. Moreover, MOH staff members will be taking part in preparing specialized health courses and developing relevant curricula and study plans. 

Cooperation will also take place in terms of the membership of the advisory and administrative committees and councils that serve the interests of both parties in accordance with the regulations in force between them. The agreement also stipulates that scientific, technical, and professional experiences can be exchanged between IMSIU and MOH. In addition, cooperation will take place in the fields of consultancy and specialized competencies. Cooperative training will also be implemented for university students, and joint training programs in specialized fields will be executed.

The meeting to sign the agreement was attended by Assistant Minister of Health, Dr. Muhammed Al-Abdulaali. The agreement was signed by Fahad bin Saleh Al-Azzam, the Assistant Deputy Minister for Enablement at MOH, and Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Tamim, the Vice Rector for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research at IMSIU.
