Over 2.8M Prescriptions Dispensed by King Saud Medical City Last Year

​According to King Saud Medical City, over 2,800,000 prescriptions have been dispensed during the past year. The city was ranked first in terms of the number of pharmaceutical safety notifications during the last month of April. It has also implemented “Wasfaty” program for outpatients, enabling beneficiaries to receive their medicines from the nearest community pharmacy, at the appropriate time. 


It added that pharmacies have participated in a number of activities in the field of pharmacology and activation of awareness days through lectures and scientific symposiums, as well as preparing medication bags for discharged gastric sleeve patients and bronchitis medication bags for emergency patients.

It pointed out that e-prescription service for controlled medications has been inaugurated for inpatients of the maternity and children hospital and for all intensive care units. Last year, more than 14,000 patients have benefited from the medication delivery service, it added.
