Health Minister Honors Winners of ‘Adaa Health’ Award 4th Edition

​​The Minister of Health, ​Fahad bin Abdurrahman Al-Jalajel honored the winners of the fourth edition of “Adaa Health” Award. ​

In his speech during the ceremony, which was held on Thursday, Al-Jalajel said that throughout five years, Adaa Health Program has been growing and improving. The number of establishments covered by the program increased from 33 to more than 2,650. About 2,900 improvement projects were also implemented, and nearly 8,000 workers in the health field took part in these projects. 
 
These projects have helped boost the indicators in distinct ranges from 50% to 70%, including the average waiting time for patients in the emergency department before they reach intensive care units, which dropped from 14 hours to approximately 2 hours. The program has provided packages of national joint qualitative sponsorships and programs, including assessing the productivity of field professionals and the “Choosing Wisely” initiative. 

The Minister explained that while doctors are fighting the pandemic everywhere across the globe, 1,500 individuals from Adaa Health are conducting daily follow-ups of thousands of data points, and issue about 4,000 reports to monitor the status of intensive care units during the pandemic.

Noteworthy, Adaa Health Program received the ISO 9001:2015 accreditation certificate during the ceremony, through “Eshhad” foundation, represented by its CEO, HRH Prince Faisal bin Abdul-Rahman Al Saud.

In its fourth edition, Adaa Health Award focuses on the collaborative efforts to improve the outcomes of the healthcare sector. All facilities, whether affiliated or unaffiliated to MOH, can get the award. It serves as a way to celebrate all the achievements and improvements made by healthcare establishments. This year's award focused on seven domains. They include: responding to and recovering from COVID-19, utilizing virtual services and telemedicine, top-performance improvement projects implemented by health NGOs, and national and international initiatives. The award targets both national and international participation in diverse services.

Presenting the award is the last step of a long journey to celebrate the participation and distinct achievements and successes within the healthcare sector in 2020-2021. Through this award, Adaa Health Program seeks to shed light on the efforts made to develop and enhance the healthcare sector, as well as improve its outcomes and services through various health establishments. 

Listed below are the award winners and honorees:
Winner of the award for Best Improvement Project in the domain of COVID-19 Response in the Hospitals category is:
King Abdulaziz Hospital in Taif
The commendation in this domain goes to King Saud Medical City.

Winner of the award for Best Project Improvement in the domain of COVID-19 Response in the PHCs Category is:
Tetamman Clinic in Abu Arish South Center in Jazan.
The commendation in this domain goes to the COVID-19 vaccination center in Taif.
 
Winner of the award for Best Project Improvement in the domain of COVID-19 Response in the Major Centers Category is:
Yamamah COVID-19 Vaccination Center in Al-Kharj. 

Winner of the award for Best Improvement Project in the domain of COVID-19 Response in establishments unaffiliated to MOH:
Al-Dara Hospital.
The commendation in this category goes to Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Humanitarian City.

Winner of the award for Best Improvement Project in the domain of COVID-19 Recovery is: 
King Saud Medical City.
 The commendation goes to King Khalid Hospital in Al-Kharj.

Winner of the award for Best Improvement Project in the domain of adopting new telemedicine services is: 
 King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital (KKESH).
The commendation goes to Dr. Suleiman Fakeeh Hospital.

Winner of the award for Best Improvement Project in the domain of adopting new services in Mawid application is: 
Sahan Bani Saad Hospital in Taif. 
The commendation goes to King Faisal Medical Complex in Taif. 

The commendation for Best Improvement Project in the domain of Health Performance in the Hospitals Category goes to: 
King Khalid Hospital in Najran. 
King Khalid Eye Specialist Hospital was announced the winner in this category. 

Winner of the award for Best Improvement Project in the domain of Health Performance in the PHCs Category is:
Saudi Health Center in Kharj. 
The commendation goes to South Khalidiya Health Center in Hafr Al-Batin.
The commendation for Best Improvement Project in the domain of Health Performance in the Specialized Services Category goes to:
King Salman Hospital. 
The winner in this category is King Abdulaziz University Hospital in Jeddah. 

Winner of the award for Best Improvement Project in the domain of health NGOs is:  
The Blood Banks Friends Charity. 
The commendation goes to Charity Health Society for Patients Care (Enayah).

The commendation for Best Improvement Project in the domain of national initiatives in the “Doctor for Each Family” Initiative:
King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital (KKESH).

The commendation for Best Improvement Project in the domain of national initiatives in the Category of the “Choosing Wisely” initiative goes to:
Khamis Mushait General Hospital.

Winner of the award for Best Improvement Project in the domain of National Initiatives in the category of supporting and measuring doctors’ productivity is:  
King Fahad Medical City.

The award also extended its appreciation and thanks to NHS Wales and UK GREEN HALL in the UK in the International Participation Domain.

Noteworthy, Adaa Health Award aims to reinforce competitiveness and motivate entities, establishments, and individuals in the health sector to make achievements that contribute to developing and improving the health sector and the services it provides to society in general, as well as improve the outcomes of the health sector and boost its services. The award covers various domains in each edition to include the largest number possible of national and international participations. Year after year, the award grows to cover more domains and raise its standards.
