The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced the list of scientists it has chosen for membership of WHO Scientific Advisory Group for the Origins of Novel Pathogens (SAGO). The list included Dr. Abdullah Asiri, the Deputy Minister of Health for Preventive Health as a member in the SAGO.
The SAGO includes 28 members of the world's leading scientists, representing a wide range of disciplines including epidemiology, public health, microbiology and virology, preventive medicine, animal biology and health and social sciences.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Asiri has conducted several studies and researches in this field, amounting to 182 published papers and 11,318 citations in scientific journals.
