In parallel with the World Patient Safety Day 2021, which is held this year under the theme: «Safe Maternal and Newborn Care», the Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the General Directorate of Pharmaceutical Care, implements several awareness activities and programs at all hospitals and health complexes across the Kingdom’s regions.
The world day aims at raising global awareness on the issues of maternal and newborn safety, particularly during childbirth, engaging multiple stakeholders and adopting effective and innovative strategies to improve maternal and newborn safety, calling for urgent and sustainable actions by all stakeholders to scale up efforts, reaching the unreached, ensuring safe maternal and newborn care, particularly during childbirth, and advocating the adoption of best practices at the point of care to prevent avoidable risks and harm to all women and newborns during childbirth. This initiative comes in continuation of MOH’s interest in implementing the World Patient Safety Day campaign.
