MOH: Continuous Efforts Made to Improve Nursing Services
08 September 2021

The Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by the Nursing Affairs General Department, continues to make efforts to enhance the quality of nursing services, given the role nursing cadres play in achieving the strategic goals of the health sector. This is part of the national transition plan for the Saudi Vision 2030. The Ministry is implementing several qualitative initiatives that aim to shed light on the positive aspects of spreading the culture of gratitude for the nursing cadres’ distinctive role. Positive results are seen in the satisfaction of both workers in the sector's and its beneficiaries.

Moreover, MOH plans to launch a campaign under the theme: “كلنا التمريض” (We Stand with Nurses), where distinguished nursing staff members in health establishments throughout last year will be honored, according to specific criteria and requirements.
This aims to encourage these individuals to maintain their productivity, and show appreciation for their outstanding generous efforts.

Noteworthy, MOH has previously implemented the aforementioned campaign. It is an initiative that takes pride in the nursing profession, and is part of the transformation program of the health sector to achieve the Saudi Vision 2030. Through this program, MOH aims to show appreciation for the role nurses play in the health sector, shed light on the profession’s technical aspects and skills, how they serve individuals and society, and the importance of the profession in the health care system, as well as the knowledge, professionalism, dedication, and commitment it requires.

The total number of the nursing workforce in MOH exceeds 107,000 cadres, including over 67,000 Saudis, which is more than 62% of the total number.
