The Regional Poison Control Center in the Eastern region, over the first half of the current year, has conducted more than 137,000 medical and forensic exams.
According to the Affairs, the center has conducted 73,974 tests for misused medicines, 5,753 for suspicious cases, 13,361 tests for emergency poisoning samples, as well as 28,994 tests for forensic chemistry. In addition, the center has conducted 4,217 drug toxicity testing and chemical and bacteriological analyses for 4,302 water samples.
It added that the center is linked to all government and private agencies through the national platform (Awtar); in order to facilitate and expedite the submitted transactions.
It is noteworthy that the center has obtained the institutional accreditation of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) for 4 years, after meeting all the standards and requirements for professional health training.
