02 September 2021

The Ministry of Health (MOH) is ranked first among ministries and second among government agencies by the general evaluation of the Pillars of Spending Sustainability Program implemented by the Expenditure and Projects Efficiency Authority (EXPRO). The program’s general evaluation covers the second half of 2021. Recently, EXPRO has announced the government agencies that won the Practical and Institutional Excellence Award in spending efficiency in its third session. The award focuses on the progress made in the program with the aim of raising readiness to achieve self-efficiency and sustainable spending in accordance with the international and local best practices without affecting the quality of services provided.

MOH is able to achieve such excellence despite the challenges that the ministry faced in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic while continuing to achieve important goals in the health transformation project. The award embodies the ministry's excellence in five pillars of spending efficiency, namely: leadership and strategy, spending efficiency practices, capabilities, initiatives, results and impact.

The Ministry has given a top priority to raising spending efficiency by studying the spending processes and operational and capital practices to reach the effectiveness of spending in order to preserve the sustainability of resources and assets and maximize the impact of spending.
