Eastern Region Health Affairs Implements Over 10,000 COVID-19 Awareness Visits

​The Eastern Region Health Affairs General Directorate announced that it implemented over 10,000 awareness visits with the aim of raising community awareness of COVID-19 and limiting its spread. The visits included various commercial establishments, including cafes, restaurants, mosques, health facilities, public places, gyms, and hair salons in Dammam, Al-Khobar, Al-Jubail, Dhahran, and Al-Qatif.  


Moreover, the visits included the distribution of a variety of awareness brochures, including: numbers to call to report violations and the importance of social distancing and sanitizing hands. The brochures also urged everyone to receive their vaccines to increase community immunity. They covered the health protocols adopted in several languages in order to educate people of all nationalities. Furthermore, the Eastern Region Health Affairs has launched its awareness initiatives using various products through social media, media platforms, text messages, road screens, and TV broadcasting. 

It also dedicated the efforts of the public health staff, volunteers, and participating parties, including media, audio-visual and print advertising, as well as social media, and commercial complexes to implementing awareness campaigns and programs. Furthermore, coordination is taking place with 45 government agencies, in cooperation with the Emirate of the Eastern Region, the Eastern Region Municipality, 30 private sector entities, a number of associations, and 30 media agencies to publish various awareness products. These products aim to encourage the public to adhere to the precautionary measures and sign up to (Sehhaty) application to get the vaccine through MOH vaccination centers.
