According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), more than 16.8 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered through over 587 vaccination centers, covering 70% of the adult population in the Kingdom.
Meanwhile, MOH announced the launch of the second dose program starting with those aged 50 years and above who took the first dose, effective June 24th, 2021. As well, the first dose program will continue for those who have not yet received it.
It confirmed that the second dose program will cover the other age group depending on the availability of the vaccine and progress made in community coverage as MOH seeks to cover the largest possible segment of the population during the upcoming period.
