MOH Marks World Blood Donor Day
14 June 2021

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has celebrated the World Blood Donor Day (WBDD), which is held this year (2021) under the theme «Give Blood and Keep the World Beating». MOH has organized at its headquarters a blood donation campaign, which has witnessed a turnout of its employees to donate blood.

Through such activities, MOH seeks to raise community awareness on the importance and health benefits of donating blood, spreading the culture of charitable work and donating blood among citizens and residents alike, as well as highlighting its health effects on all segments of society and entrenching such noble humanitarian goals. MOH also seeks to save the largest possible number of blood units from donors; to secure blood reserve requirements, along with the basic stock available at MOH’s blood banks.

It is noted that the total number of blood donors over the past year (2020) reached 342,460 donors.
