The Department of Social Services at King Saud Medical City, over the past year, has provided its services to 9,527 beneficiaries.
According to the City, the services included the provision of 328 medical devices as needed by patients, 250 winter clothing, and transportation and accommodation for those coming from outside Riyadh. The department aims to help patients and solve their problems by identifying the problems and their causes and then contributing in drafting an action plan for the social worker intervention to achieve the therapeutic, preventive and rehabilitation objectives.
It added that the social worker deals with inpatients, outpatients, and emergencies who are referred to him for many reasons, including those refusing treatment, those who are not following the treatment plan, as well as those who are worried about their chronic diseases and may need rehabilitation before they begin treatment, such as those with amputation and other cases.
