According to Al-Qunfudhah Health Affairs, over the past month (January), the Home Healthcare Program has conducted 3,160 home visits, benefiting 1,293 patients enrolled in the program. Also, 138 home visits have been paid by 18 medical teams to deliver medicine and supplies to patients’ homes.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Health (MOH) provides the home medicine program services through qualified medical teams at several hospitals and medical cities across the Kingdom. The services are provided to patients with the engagement of their families as per approved standards.
Moreover, the health services provided by the home medicine program include comprehensive medical and nursing care, following-up bed-ridden patients and the elderly and their chronic diseases, such as: high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory problems, injury care, bedsore, tubes, catheters, intravenous therapy, palliative care, and care for patients with psychiatric and neurological diseases, in addition to providing physical therapy service, respiratory therapy, clinical nutrition, and social services. The other main services include health education for patients and their families. They are not restricted to health, psychological and social services only. They also include the provision of medical supplies and devices and medicines needed by the patients.
