According to Najran Health Affairs, over the past year, the Eye Center of King Khaled Hospital has provided its therapeutic and consulting services to 20,784 beneficiaries, 15,140 of them visited doctors’ clinics and 5,644 visited optometry clinics.
It added that the center has performed 1,350 surgeries, including 29 procedures for stabilization of keratoconus, 405 cataract surgeries, 431 surface laser vision correction, 75 strabismus surgeries, 275 intravitreal injections, 27 superficial lasers, 9 cuts of vitreous retinal fluid and 12 procedures to remove polyps. Also, 40 intraocular lenses were implanted for vision correction and corneal transplantation, 20 laser artificial lenses were cleaned eye and 26 eye socket surgeries.
