Samtah General Hospital Conducts over 13,000 Home Medical Visits in 2020

According to Samtah General Hospital, over the past year (2020), the Home Medicine Program has conducted 13,301 home visits; benefiting 672 patients enrolled in the program across the governorate and affiliated villages.


The program keeps on providing its medical services through a medical team enhanced with adequate medical supplies required for patient needs. This team features a physician, 5 nurses (3 males and 2 females), a social worker, a physiotherapist and a medical secretary.

It is noteworthy that MOH provides the home medicine program services through qualified medical teams at several hospitals and medical cities across the Kingdom. The services are provided to patients with the engagement of their families as per approved standards.

Moreover, the health services provided by the home medicine program include comprehensive medical and nursing care, following-up bed-ridden patients, the elderly and their chronic diseases, such as: high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory problems, injury care, bedsore, tubes, catheters, intravenous therapy, palliative care, and care for patients with psychiatric and neurological diseases, in addition to providing physical therapy service, respiratory therapy, clinical nutrition, and social services. The other main services include health education for patients and their families. They are not restricted to health, psychological and social services only. They also include the provision of medical supplies and devices and medicines needed by the patients.
